This guide is ideal to give direction to daily devotionals or family home evening when Mom has not had time to prepare a lesson ahead of time! Just choose a letter of the alphabet and begin. Each lesson has motivational ideas for personal and family improvement. The emphasis is on being "doers of the word."

An action word for each letter of the alphabet has been taken from the scriptures, eg. A is for Ask, B is for Believe, etc. A mini-lesson for each word gives ideas for family discussions, related topics for further research, as well suggestions for songs taken from the hymn book and the children's song book. Each lesson can be expanded to cover several days. (In our family we will sometimes stay on a topic until we have sung all of the suggested songs!)

Word strips for each letter show the letter, the key word(s) and the scriptural phrase. These are printed on colored card stock and can be used as flash cards or for creating bulletin boards etc.

Note: "A is for Ask" is not designed to teach reading, but the key words can reinforce the phonics program you are using with your beginning readers.
